Can the Bluetooth be turned off? Can you turn off Bluetooth on the ring? Will it conflict with other Bluetooth products?

Motiv Ring is at the cutting edge of low-power technology. The ring will broadcast Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) periodically during the day to sync with the Motiv App but is not on all the time. The sensors and electronics will not interfere with TSA requirements and the signal uses less power than a set of Bluetooth headphones and far less power than a smartphone. While the Motiv Ring does not have an 'airplane mode' you can disable Bluetooth on your phone, which will prevent the ring from uploading data.

How do you recharge it? How often do you have to charge it? How long does each charge last? Does the battery have to be replaced?

Motiv Ring's custom-built curved lithium-ion battery provides typical battery life of 3 days dependent on use. Motiv Ring will fully charge in less than 90 minutes. Each Motiv Ring comes with two USB magnetic charging docks and one keyring charger holder. Motiv Ring reaches full charge in under 90 minutes. Simply plug the charging dock into your laptop or the USB port of your choice, attach your Motiv Ring to the charging dock, and voila! The Motiv Ring battery that does not need to be replaced.

Can I wear it for lifting weights?

Over time you may see cosmetic wear, especially if gripping hard rough surfaces, such as the grip of a barbell. This wear will not affect the function of the ring. However, to maintain the surface finish it is recommended to wear gloves or removing your ring during these activities.

Is the ring waterproof? Can I use it for swimming? Can I use it in the pool? How long does it work when submerged?

Yes! Motiv Ring is waterproof up to 165 feet - 5 ATM / 50 meters - in salt water, fresh water, chlorine, hot tubs, you name it. Swim, dive, soak, shower, wash the dishes, get it as wet as you'd like! Motiv Ring currently tracks several watersports activities like swimming, water aerobics, and rowing.

Is it hypoallergenic? What material is the ring made from? Does it contain any nickel?

Yes, the outer ring is ultra-light titanium with a scratch-resistant coating. The inside is medical grade plastic, and there is steel and gold plating on the charging contacts on the inside of the ring. There is no nickel in the Motiv Ring.

How durable is it?

The Motiv Ring is built and tested to stand up to everyday life and is encased in an outer titanium shell with a scratch-resistant coating. The ring will stand up to normal use including exposure to water, most household soaps, detergents, and lotions.

How wide is the ring?

Motiv Ring is 8mm wide by 2.5mm thick. Motiv Ring is thinner than two nickels and weighs less than a penny.

Do you have to get a sizing kit to order?

Yes, Motiv Ring sizes are a little different than traditional ring sizes. There's a flat surface inside the Ring – this is where the heart rate sensor lives. A good fit is essential to getting good data. The Motiv Sizing Set makes it easy to find a size that fits best and so you can get the most accurate data possible. And giving Motiv as a gift is easy too, since the Motiv Sizing Set includes a redemption code that the gift recipient can use to select their own choice in size and color. We recommend you wear the ring for 24 hours to see what fits best during your normal day. From sleeping to working out, find the size that works for you. Make sure it’s not too tight and that it is comfortable to wear.

What's the warranty?

Each Motiv Ring will come with a one year warranty from the date you receive the ring.

What's the return policy?

You may exchange or return your Motiv Ring for any reason within 45 days of receipt of your ring for a full refund.

How can I purchase a second ring if I already have a sizing set?

How do I pick my color?

After you order a Motiv Ring, we’ll first mail you a Sizing Set so you can find your Motiv size, ensuring both comfort and performance. After you've found your Motiv size, visit the Motiv app or at mymotiv.com/go, enter the code on your Sizing Set, and choose your size and color. Your Motiv Ring will arrive in as little as two business days.

How do I get additional chargers?

If you lose your charger please reach out to Motiv Support at support@mymotiv.com to obtain a replacement.

What is the size range?

We have 7 Motiv Ring sizes, 6 through 12. Motiv Ring sizes are a little different than traditional ring sizes. There's a flat surface inside the Ring – this is where the heart rate sensor lives.

Can I exchange the ring if my ring size changes? What happens if I lose weight and the ring becomes too big?

Each Motiv Ring will come with a full year warranty from the date you receive the ring. You can also return the Motiv Ring for a refund up to 45 days after you receive it. If you lose weight and your ring no longer fits any of your fingers, contact our support team at support@mymotiv.com, and we'll help take care of you.

What if I don't know my ring size?

After you find your size, choose your ring through the Motiv app or at mymotiv.com/go. Your ring will ship within 1 business day.Your sizing set and Motiv Ring are both shipped free via USPS Priority mail, which can take as little as 3 days to arrive. Please bear in mind that shipping is through a partner and occasional complications may delay delivery. What apps is Motiv compatible with? Will it work with Virgin Pulse, MyFitnessPal, Runkeeper, ANT+, and Google Fit?

No, however, we are always working to make your Motiv experience more valuable, such as by adding integration with third-party apps and programs. Motiv now works with both Apple Health and Alexa, and we will be adding more integrations in the future. You can stay up to date on new features and integrations by joining our mailing list.

Can I order Motiv Ring for multiple Operating Systems? What phones is it compatible with? Is it compatible with iPhone? Is it compatible with Android? Which Android models can I use it with? Can I use it on an iPad instead of an iPhone?

Does it work with Apple Health?

Yes, the Motiv App for iOS now gives you the ability to export your data to the Apple Health app. You can export data on your step and heart rate from the Motiv App, aggregate your fitness information in the Health app and view it in new and different interfaces, including both a graph of your heart rate all day as well as steps over time.

If you are experiencing a technical issue and would like to talk with a support representative by phone, please provide your phone number and the times you are available and we will call you. Our regular support hours are: 9am to 5pm PST, Monday through Friday We typically respond within one business day. Our response time will be longer over weekends and occasionally during high volume periods.

Availability

When will you offer gold or silver colors?

Currently, the Motiv ring only comes in Slate Gray and Rose Gold, however, we are always considering new colors and finishes to meet the needs and interests of our customers.

International Availability

We chose to focus on the US market at launch to ensure we deliver the best possible consumer experience. We are pleased to share that as of June 29th 2018, Motiv Ring is also available in Canada via Amazon.ca and Best Buy.ca. Our plan is to add distribution partners over time to help us provide the same level of service in other markets as we do in the US.
